Summertime 2009
Try red Zinfandel- the quintessential American wine for the quintessential
American summer.
Rich spice and concentrated fruit make Zinfandel the perfect match for
grilled meat and tangy BBQ sauces.
A note on red wine temperatures in summer. A lot of people tell me they
don't like drinking red wines in the summer because they're 'too hot'.
The recommended 'room temperature' for consuming most red wines refers
to rooms in 12th century European castles (about 65 degrees F) not 21st
century backyard decks in Fairfield County in July (about 85 degrees F.)
It's OK to put your reds in the refrigerator for a little while to cool
them off a bit.
